Try-out classes

Try-out classes 2026-2027

Dear dancers,

We hope that you are having or had an amazing AID! We are very happy to see that so many of you have shown interest in our association. We are really looking forward to showing you what it is like to be a member of SDF.

In order for you to get an impression of our dance classes, we have organised try-out classes at the start of the academic year. We are offering try-out classes in Open Style and Contemporary and you can sign up for whichever you would like. The schedule for the try-out classes and all the information you need to know, can be found down below.

Signing up for a try-out class

At the start of every semester, we host two try-out classes in each style during our Try-Out Weeks. During these weeks, you can join one try-out class in both styles. Unfortunately, it is not possible to join two classes of the same style due to high demand. Outside of the Try-Out Weeks, you can join two try-out classes in each style. You can sign up by clicking the button below and filling in the form.

What to bring

For the Contemporary class, you can dance on socks or barefoot. For the Open Style class, please bring clean indoor sneakers. For both classes, you can wear any (sports) clothes that are easy to move in and that you feel comfortable in. Also, don’t forget to bring your water bottle!

Location

The classes will be given at Sports Centre de Bongerd in Hall 3. This is the dance hall of the Sports Centre. If you walk into the main entrance of the building, turn left at the front desk and walk into the long hallway with all the dressing rooms on your right until you walk into an open area. Here you find the stairs on your right side. If you walk up these stairs, you will find the dance hall right in front of you. Please be on time for your try-out class, because we are working with a tight schedule.
